"I want to live my life in such a way that when people come in contact with me, they have to either accept the reality of Christ or reject me."
This has been my motto for as long as I can remember. I've always wanted my life to be a display of His heart and I've wanted to be an encouragement and light for those around me. I just never dreamed God would use that motto to mold my life like He has.
Growing up, I was always putting on a show. Whether belting out Whitney Houston as a toddler, inviting my neighbors to theatrical productions in my driveway as a 3rd grader, assistant directing shows with my church as a highschooler, or leading music and theater ministries as an adult, I've always been putting on a show. Over the years, my love for the stage grew because my view of the stage changed. Instead of viewing the stage as a platform for attention, I started to see it as a platform for the Kingdom. I longed to see the stage used a tool in the hands of a creative and loving God, chasing the hearts of His children.
Growing up, I also loved to make a difference and talk about my relationship with Jesus. My dentist still talks about how I used to sing Sunday School songs in her office restroom loud enough for everyone to hear. I would often ask people if they believed in God and wouldn't hesitate to listen to the hurts of the person next to me on the airplane. Loving people, talking about Jesus, and ministering to hurts was just my normal and it was impossible for me to live my life any differently.
I began my college career at Chandler Gilbert Community College as a homeschooler by studying vocal performance. I studied under the excellent instruction of Dr. J. Edmund Hughes, Marc Denton, and many others. During my time at CGCC, I also began a prayer group with some Christian friends and decided to be very vocal about my faith. I transferred to Grand Canyon University to complete my degree, but God had an additional transition in mind.
The summer before my senior year, God confirmed my call to ministry. Praying about what that would look like, God showed me that He had already given me my ministry context in the homeschool choir I had started while at CGCC. In 2014, Stello Christian Arts became Stello Ministries and the discipleship and worship emphasis came to the forefront and the performing arts remained our vehicle for the furtherance of the Gospel.
I graduated from GCU with a degree in Christian Studies in 2014 and have been leading Stello since 2011. I've had many experiences that have shaped who I am...too many to mention in this introduction! If you would like to know more about me, feel free to email or give me a call and I'd be happy to tell you my story!
I can tell you this much- I'm not perfect, but I'm eager to grow. I love my Jesus. I love His Church. and I hope I get the chance to get to know and love you!
